419 Scammers

Take up action against them!

By the way, happy new year and I've decided to upload the new H.A.I.R. of 2005 since I'd be out partying tonight. Have fun!

Oooh, a Biffy®!!!

Next Christmas, buy one another a Biffy® Personal Rinse.

I just love the instructional video! Cracks me up all the time...

Its benefits?

The Biffy® Personal Rinse was developed by physicians and nurses for your personal health. Rubbing with paper is not only unclean and archaic,it is very irritating
to delicate tissues and spreads bacteria around the rectal and vaginal areas. The resulting contamination can feel uncomfortable and lead to vaginal colonization.

Ah... I'm sure that sales pitch will move at least 20 units by tommorrow...

Fuck me sideways...

Max just posted this on his blog. I feel like a cheap whore. What happened to Novak, our lil side project? *whine whine whine*

Anyway, the doode is down with flu for the past 3 weeks. So we are still a band (?) with the EP cover but no EP.

Actually, reading his entry got my hands all itchy again to do some Agents Of Smith stuff. Gotta try doing some electronic-based music again. Just heard that Phorous has snagged themselves quite a couple of interesting guest vocalists for their debut album. Linda of Lunarin and Eswandy of big.redmoment are doing a "dark" house duet and there are some R'n'B stuff on it as well.

Crap, always one step behind...

A little peek...

Another Christmas. Another Christmas without getting laid.

Well, I usually don't post any reflections about my life and use my blog entries as self-serving epiphanies to the rest of the world. I think there are far too many such blogs out there anyway. However, today I shall break that rule and let you guys in a little to the inner workings of my mind.

Most people ask me why I still remain single. Am I too fussy or am I over-reaching most of the time? Shaddup. Yes, you at the back, shaddup.

What the case really is that I'm just too lazy and too half-arsed to do anything. I'm expecting God to drop me someone like Lin Chi-ling and say to me, "Alright, there you go. Have fun."

Seriously... End of confession.

Vampirella

I mentioned in my previous post that I saw a pretty HOTT chick dressed as Vampirella during Halloween. I thought she was going to Zouk but it turned out that she was at another party. Stumbled upon this while surfing the exitmusik forum.

She thought that being a vampire meant that you'd end up looking as suave as Brad Pitt in 'Interview With The Vampire', not like an extra from 'Dawn Of The Dead'.

Cockteaser...

Fantastic Four

Never have been a fan. I predict this will bomb big time, potentially causing the demise of superhero movies like how Joel Schumacher's 'Batman & Robin' tanked. But I'm in a Jessica Alba's mood today.

Dang, like G.Dawg would say, "Baby's got back. Uh-huh." And she looks great as a blonde too. Just like how Kirsten Dunst should consider being a permanent redhead/ strawberry blonde.

White Supremacists

Nothing warms my heart more than a couple of kids taking up instruments to rock the world. Okay, I can think some other things but that's not the point here.

I know, damn cute right? But these 2 kids are fronting a white supremacist band and they have those types of recording labels in the States. No, I'm not fucking with you. Read about it here.

Courage & Stupidity

"His film is a classic. The story behind it is legendary."

Or that's what they say here.

Hullo... What do we have here?

Trailer for the movie is out. It looks decent. I like the scene of Jessica Alba twirling the lasso. A lot. Watch it here.

Couldn't tell it was Benicio Del Toro

Novak, it is...

Perhaps, we are the only band/ group in the world with the EP cover out before we have any recorded tunes. Me and my mate, Max formed this group, Novak to write and play some Brit-pop influenced tunes, the stuff we spent our fomulative years listening to.

Doode, there's a missing dot after the 'P'.

Here's what Max posted on his blog:

Well, I suppose when you have nothing to do except sending dozens of resumes and hope for THAT EXCLUSIVE interview to come, you could write some songs. Me and my mate Willy (in the same situation) are currently brainstorming on a few tracks. So far, we have two confirmed songs. One a Bernard Butler-style track similar to 'Stay' and the next a song which was written yonks ago, titled "Lovely Lady".

"Lovely Lady" was written after my break-up with a galfriend about 7 years ago. In the mould of Hurricane #1, the track contains a heavy bass line and plenty of guitar solos, which will be provided by my brother, Melvin.

This weekend, I will have to get down and produce 2 more tracks. Hopefully, everything will arise early next year.

Yeah, I still don't hear the Hurricane 1 influence on 'Lovely Lady'. But for the Bernard Butler rip-off, you can be sure that we're gonna put strings on it!!! Hopefully, it'd sound decent and we would be able to pull it off. Tis a 'pussy song' but I like it. For a moment, Novak's motto was "Chicks dig Coldplay and we want to dig chicks." But in the end, we decided just to be pussy. That's enough.

Max is wrong in his account. We have another tune which is dedicated to Kristin Kreuk of Smallville fame. She rawks... I think we are calling it 'Song For Lana'. Fuck, we are such opportunists. I just hope that we can nail this sucker of an E.P. out as soon as possible. I need something to drive me forward nowadays.

In other related news, my main act, The Love Experiment would be playing at the Esplande Theatre next month. Details in around... well, 2 weeks' time! We should be putting up a demo mp3 for downloading. Needless to say, I fucked it up as usual.

I am part of the problem...

As found on Billy's blog, The death of the media industry as we know it...

It's truly scary. And it makes you think that the MediaCorps and MediaWorks merger is nothing compared to this.

F.A.C.T.S.

This stands for Families Against the Casino Threat in Singapore. No, I'm not shitting you and as most folks would know by now through the wonders of mass mail circulation. Here's the site!

While I applaud their efforts for devoting their time to such a cause, don't we all know by now that nothing will change the Singaporean government mindset when it comes to making money? I don't see this hooha when the government decided to open up the life sciences industry. So it's alright to teach your children that gambling is evil but messing around with your God-given DNA genes through stem-cell research is perfectly fine indeed. Where are the Christians on this issue man?

I utterly sit on the fence on both issues. I'd be the first to admit that I'm selfish. I don't know how much I can benefit from both matters. But I rather keep my mind open on this issue.

Parents will warn kids about the dangers of gambling. These kids will grow up to be conscious of the dangers. There are those families who go on gambling tours to Genting, etc. Guess who would grow up thinking that gambling is just a hobby?

In Singapore, legalised betting is already an S$2-billion-per-annum industry and a declared national past-time. Why? No balls to take the cludgels up against that? Too afraid that the Internal Security Act will pounce on you and your HDB flat eh? Or is one of the F.A.C.T.S. committee members' relative on the National Kidney Foundation subsidary list? Hey, doesn't Singapore Pools give NKF some money annually as part of their yearly PR-goodwill campaign? Hmmm.... and it makes me wonder.

Like what the Manic Street Preachers so self-righteously declared, "pro-life equals anti-choice". Is that really the case? Just teach your kids well. That's the best thing that any parents can do.

"Where are you?!?!?!"

Dave Mustaine apologises...

Read this on one of the e-mailers I subscribe to:

MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine has posted the following message on
the group's official message board:

"Droogies!

"Tonight I had the honor and priveledge to host a special [MTV2 'Headbanger's Ball'] tribute to the life of Darrel 'Dimebag' Abbott.

"I went out to NYC Thursday at 9:30 PM on a redeye to do this, and during the period since then, I have had a good amount of time to reflect on my own life.

"I realized how fortunate I am, and have been to have met some of you, and in some cases become friends with many of you.

"What is bothering me is the people who I have not been able to meet, or worse, have met and ended up not being friends with. There are many.

"I would like to, in honor of Darrel's life, learn from him and how many friends he apparently had made.

"Over my career I have a lot of cleaning up to do on my side of the street as well as letting things go, for once and for all; I need to apologize to many people and also to forgive and quit holding grudges.

"Having said that, if there is something I did to you or someone you know, please give me the opportunity to make this right.

"To SLAYER and METALLICA: I am sorry for whatever I may have done in the past and wish to make it right, to put it behind us. Please let me know how and when we can talk this out.

"To previous bandmembers and managers: I say the same to you.

"To all the MEGADETH/METALLICA fans: from this day forward, there will never be another unkind word from my mouth perpetuating this silly 22-year-old feud.

"And to heavy metal fans around the world: I am going to emulate Dimebag by being more like him; more friendly, and more interested in your lives too, I promise.

"I am grateful to have been asked to come in this hour of darkness to represent us all as we come together and heal as a worldwide music community, and I would be a fraud if I didn't say I need to do more to better represent.

"Thank you in advance for your forgiveness and for your support."

Blade: Trinity

It sucks. Yes, fuck the pun...

Watched it on Friday with Weiyuan and Fritz. The only good thing about the show was Jessica Biel. She doesn't look that great in the stills but in the movie, she's HOTT... I stumbled across this piece of news which talks deleted scenes from the movie. I had my hopes up that it was Biel in the buff but it turned to be this.

Anyway, managed to find some pic of Jessica Biel.

Dole or Dough?

Happiness is a little bunny and that little bunny is me.

Okay, that sounded fucken off. Anyway, I managed to install Cakewalk Sonar 3, a music sequencing/recording application software in my notebook. Hehehe, finally I'm in business!!! I have used Cakewalk Pro Audio 9 before and have gotten quite used to the interface. But then again, Cakewalk just released Sonar 4 recently.

Shit, looking at it is making me drool. Man, you can compose a soundtrack and edit videos on it all at the same time. Apparently, the looping functions are corrected than before.

Looks like it's time to move north to JB and look for the Holy Grail...

Well, Max and I have formed a little side-project and will be trying to get some stuff together for recording. So, it's all good when Sonar 3 is currently installed, hopefully it works.

In any case, I suggested On The Dole due to our spotty employment histories or Dole for short. He misheard it to be Dough. Actually, it doesn't really matter. Hopefully, we'd be able to get some stuff out before the year ends. We're revisiting the only tune that he has ever written which he says sound like Hurricane #1. But I thought it sounded like Oasis with a little of the rootsy The Verve country style thrown in.

Oh yeah, we started a bit of work on a new tune which I forced him to write at gun point. It's a piece modelled after Coldplay as a joke. Well, if you can beat 'em...

But knowing the speed that both of us work at, a 3 or 4 song EP by New Year's Day might not be possible. A couple of friends would be helping us out on this little project. Good luck to us!!! We'll need it...

Aging Youth Productions web-zine #11

For a good laugh, head on over to the web-zine I do with my frens. Serious. We got some funny fuckers on the grill this time round.

Plus we are revamping the website... again in anticipation of the gig we are organising next month. And yeah, I'd be playing as well. More details soon...

I begin... once again

Thursday, December 09, 2004

This is just fucken sad...

Dimebag Darrel, ex-lead guitarist of Pantera had been gunned down earlier in a LA club while playing with his new band, Damageplan. He didn't survive the shooting. My condolescenes to his family.

He was a great musician and all-round funny guy.

Read about it.

Rest in peace, doode.

Queen my Amidala

What I read from an interview with Mike Nichols, director of the movie, "Closer". It stars Julia Roberts, Jude Law, Clive Owen and Natalie Portman.

Q: What about the decision to excise the footage of Natalie Portman nude?

Mike: That’s really just two seconds. All it is is this. What you’re seeing in the picture is from the back, she goes like this and closes up her brassiere. I also had it from the front, so you had maybe a second and a half of Natalie and then her bra was closed. That’s all there ever was, that’s all I ever shot. But it has a sort of like of its own. It sort of keeps coming back and people are saying, “Is it online? Can we see it?’”

Q: Is it?

Mike: No. Because my deal with Natalie was, I said, “It’s your body, you decide. We’ll shoot what we shoot and then I’ll show you and you’ll decide what you want to show and what you don’t, and it’s not anybody else’s decision or business.” And then she thought it over having seen it and she said, “I really don’t want to be walking down the street and see a guy and wonder whether he’s seen my tits.” So when I took it out, and it really was a couple of seconds- that’s all there is, that’s all there ever was- it was better, because the scene and the picture are not about showing anything. They’re about experiencing- seeing him seeing it. We don’t see it. He’s looking.

Don't sweat it, Max. With your God-given skills, I'm sure you can track that little bit of omitted footage and share it with us.

Where you end and I begin...

The Man In Black

Joaquim Phoenix is totally credible as Johnny Cash in the bio-pic, "Walk The Line". I'm totally buying him as Cash.

This totally creams me...

Shooter Jennings, playing his own father, Waylon, Cash's sideman.

But I'm not placing too much faith on Reese Witherspoon as Cash's wifr, June Carter.

Somehow, "Legally Blonde" keeps popping into my head...

Jesus Holy Christ!!!

Saw this avatar while I'm gg thru some forums.

Reminds of that time while I was at Zouk with some of my army frens. Sweet Jesus...

Your skin makes me cry...

Found on Chee Ken's blog, some flash animation using Radiohead's acoustic version of Creep. Really nice. "Your skin makes me cry..."

Lin Chi-ling's ass makes me wanna spank it...
